The Worst Christmas Song. Ever.

Happy Holidays – you mother is going to die!!!

This is seriously the most depressing Christmas song ever written.  I’m sure it’s supposed to have some deeper meaning about giving and love at the holidays, but for the most part it craps on your day just as bad as that Sarah McLachlan commercial

And when it’s all said and done I’m sure the mortuary stole the new fancy shoes, returned them to WalMart and used the money to buy a swanky new Fry Daddy.

I can totally make that joke because my brother is a mortician.

I’m sure they don’t really do that though.  Right, Josh?

Happy Holidays!

Clearly I’m a dork with issues

Nothing says super cool like sharing a video of yourself applying for a blogging opportunity.  I wasn’t planning on sharing this video with anyone but the virtual job people, but I realized that if I’m applying for a blogging job that requires vlogging, I’d have to put on my big girl britches and get over myself.
So, I give you my dork of a self.
I feel it’s important to note, however, that right before I filmed this video (in my undisclosed secret location in 1 take no less!) that I was wearing a ratty t-shirt covered in fried chicken skin and grease.  I even forgot to put on a bra and I’m not even sure I was wearing pants.  But, with the right sweater, a dab of makeup, and a quick spray of dry shampoo I pulled myself together enough to not pass for a zombie.
Happy Sunday.

Mad skills, yo.

Clearly they get their grace and moves from me  *snort*>

Nothing like celebrating your 9th wedding anniversary with some family dance moves.

I got shivers

I had to share…

Because today I needed a laugh

After a weird day of phone calls and contact from estranged relatives I needed a laugh.  So, I went back through my archives and found one of my favorite videos of the kids.  It was shot over two years ago and still makes me wet myself with laughter.  Enjoy.

Found: Lost Pictures

I was getting ready for class the other day when the doorbell rang.  Charlotte actually ran over and answered the door in what I believe was a quickly planned attempt to get out of yet another nap.

It worked.  But I digress.

When I opened the door a little old lady was standing there in an over-sized red coat.  She smiled and asked if we happened to lose a little black puppy.  She found it the other day and was trying rather hard to find its home.   When I informed her that the puppy was not ours she looked a bit defeated.  But, she thanked me for my time and headed over to the next house.

I don’t know if she ended up finding the puppy’s home, but later that same day I ran across this story.  It really made me wonder how far would any of us go to return something?

Here’s hoping the film finds its rightful owners and that the rest of us learn to appreciate the effort and the kindness at the heart of it.

a sparrow…

stupid sappy videos! where are the kleenex?!

saw this on Facebook today and decided that it is best not to cry alone…

Everybody needs a good laugh on a Friday – so go laugh at this baby

and I’ll be back with some substance on Monday – after I’ve wrapped my head around this new assistantship and a much needed glass of wine!

Go hug someone…

I saw this video on another blog this morning.  Sometimes it’s like the world is just speaking to me – and it knows exactly what I need to hear.

Go hug someone today.

Hug them hard.  And long.

And hold their hand.

That’s all it really takes.

And, if there isn’t anyone to hug – hug yourself.  You’re pretty freaking wonderful, too.
