On the Road Again

What have I accomplished on the lovely 70 degree and sunny Wednesday?

  • Drooped off and picked up Mia from preschool
  • cleaned the kitchen
  • completely disinfected the kids’ bathroom after the massive #2 explosion that my wonderful potty-training son created
  • gave said potty-training child a bath to continue the disinfecting process
  • Fill the car with gas (actually only half way…gas was $3.15 today!)
  • Stopped at Kohls and left with 2 precious Easter dresses with matching cardigans and a darn cute polo for said pooper)
  • Ran to Toys R Us and unloaded all three children to run inside and return an unnecessary cable the hubby purchase is his Wii excitement
  • Drove over to Target, unloaded all three children again, and ran inside to return a pair of my daughter’s pants that don’t fit. I was promptly informed that they were on clearance and are no longer in the system and that I couldn’t‘ return them without a receipt. So, I bought laundry baskets instead.
  • Updated my calender with several preschool notices that arrived in my daughter’s backpack.
  • Fed and changed the baby several times
  • Fed the pooper lunch
  • Washed and filled 6 bottles for later consumption by baby

What do I have left to accomplish on this lovely 70 degree and sunny Wednesday?

  • Fix dinner, feed children, and clean up expected mess
  • give all three children a bath
  • fold 5 loads of laundry that are sitting on the bed
  • get a shower
  • fill multiple eggs with individually wrapped candy that contains no peanuts and can fit inside the small space that is the egg itself. (for the preschool egg hunt that came on said announcement sheet)

Where’s that bottle of wine?!

Daily

My OCD requires me to be very specific when making daily to-do lists. I must use a clean piece of paper of a specific size (nothing that is too big to fit in the diaper bag) and I must use the same writing implement to make the list and cross off the list. Weird, I know. But, it’s my thing.

Wednesday’s To-do list:

  • pick up and drop Amelia off at preschool (9:30 and 1:30)
  • Do laundry (roughly 5 or 6 loads)
  • Make casserole for dinner (must do in the morning because of the insanity that hits around 4:00)
  • change cat litter
  • clean kitchen floor (God bless the Floor mate)
  • scrub down kitchen table
  • Tread at least 2 miles
  • Give all three children a bath (quite a chore by itself)
  • Plan for tomorrow’s trip to the park (stroller, snacks, etc…)

That’s all I can process before coffee. I’ll get back to you when I’m caffeinated.

Sunday afternoon

I enjoyed the view today…watching the hubby chop down a 60 foot tree while wearing combat boots and his Descendents t-shirt. Sometimes it’s nice to watch someone else do the work. Yes, I at least brought him a glass of water.

To Market

I have decided that one of my favorite times during the week is my trip to Publix Supermarket. Not only is this at least a 30 minute break from the chaos of house and kids, but it is always a pleasurable trip.
I recently began buying my produce and meat there because of the phenomenal quality. I then purchase my other groceries at WalMart. I have decided that, despite the higher prices, I am going to find a way to do all my shopping at Publix. The store is clean. The shelves are stocked. They variety is great as is the staff. The lines are never long and parking is easy. It’s just nice. I feel good about what I bring to my family and leave genuinely happy about the experience. It’s true that the prices are higher, but the experience is totally worth it!

How do the weekends get so busy?!

I spent a good hour or so making lists of everything required for the weekend. There was the ‘to do’ list, the ‘errands’ list, and the ‘shopping’ list. How did the weekends end up getting so scheduled?

Here’s what needed to be done:

-Errands

-grocery store, pharmacy, bank, hardware store, wholesale store, kitchen supply store,

clothing store (and the lists of what to get at each store)

-Fix Fan

-Deck attic

-Work on photo project

-update baby book

-write cover letter for freelance article

-pick up truck

In the midst of all this we still had to do the following:

-make breakfast, lunch, and dinner

-tend to the babies (including entertainment, diaper changes, chores, etc…)

-shower/bathe

-sleep

-basic housework

No wonder I’m so tired by Monday…and I do this every weekend.
