9 years

Dear Hubby,

Tomorrow we will celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary.  June 25th. For 9 years we have laughed, cried, made babies, and built an amazing life.  You’ve encouraged me to chase my dreams – always ready in the wings with your support and love.

I could not have asked for a better partner, lover, and friend.  You compliment and complete me in every possible way.

I love you, Andy.  Whatever our next adventure – I’ll still be holding your hand.

Love,
Wife

“CoNgRaTuLaTiOnS on your blog-iversary! I look forward to receiving your posts in my inbox and love to read your little tidbits that seem tp represent what we back-to-school-mamas-of-little-ones-oh-my-gosh-where-is-the-pause-button-on-my-life go through on a regular basis.  Enjoy your studies, and most of all, your family! :)

Email me at mamaneena@hotmail.com to claim your prize.

Thank you to everyone that entered and showed me some much appreciated love on my blog anniversary! I’d send each of you a leather journal if I could, but that would be expensive and I’ve only made about 14 cents this quarter on ads.  Instead I’ll give you a hug and a smooch – and I suppose grab your ass if you’re into that sort of thing!

xoxo

Blog Anniversary (and a giveaway!)

** CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED – WINNER WILL BE PICKED SOON!***

Today is my blog anniversary.  I have been blogging for exactly 3 years.

I started blogging as a means of finding an outlet for my parenting struggles.  I was pregnant with my third child when I began blogging, my husband traveled all the time, and my other kids were 3 years old and 2 years old.

That third child will be 3 next month.

It’s all kind of surreal.  In the time I’ve been blogging I’ve managed to write 736 posts.  I’ve been to blogging conferences all over the country.  And, I’ve met and formed friendships with some incredibly amazing women!

In the time I’ve been blogging I’ve returned to school in pursuit of a PhD.  My research aims to understand the community and identity formed for mommy bloggers.

In the time I’ve been blogging I’ve contributed to several sites, had my first article published, and even managed to make a little freelance writer money!

Who knew that when I started this three years ago it would lead to all this?!  I can hardly wait to see what will come next!

I’ve changed urls, revamped my blog name, gone through redesigns and new headers.  But, mostly it’s stayed the same – me, my words, and a place where I feel safe, connected, and inspired.

In honor of my three year blog anniversary I’m having a little giveaway!

As much as I love the beauty and power of words – I hope to pass that love onto someone else.  I’m giving away this beautiful, handcrafted leather journal!

Use it as a place to begin putting your own words – because your words are important!
Here are some specifics about the journal:
The Giglio leather journal features a very large fleur de lis deeply embossed into the thick calfskin cover. The journal is detailed with deckled pages and a leather strap threaded and knotted through the spine. The leather is antiqued and colored with a rich brown patina.
Journal measures 6″ x 8 1/2″ and has 280 pages (140 leaves )
Blank, unlined pages with deckled edges
Soft calfskin leather rich in variegated shades of brown.
Permanently bound with stitching, not refillable
Archival and acid-free
Can be personalized with embossing.
Handcrafted in Italy.

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post for a chance to win!  That’s it!  Contest closes Friday (November 12) at 12:00 p.m

I’ll choose a winner with the help of random.org and the lucky winner will also get to choose whatever personal embossing they’d like!

This is just my way of saying thanks.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks for commenting.

Thanks for, well, everything!

(This post is not sponsored by anyone other than me.  No journal makers know who I am nor do they care. This is just because I love ya!)

eight

Eight years ago this man was crazy enough to say yes.

He said yes to forever.
He promised me the world and he delivered the universe.
To say I love him doesn’t even being to explain what I feel…
But, it’s a start…
I love you, Andy. It’s been an amazing journey and I can’t wait to see where it takes us.
Happy Anniversary, Baby.

365, 287, and a little bit o’ love! (TIME’S UP)

Thank you to everyone that left me a comment yesterday.  I’m starting to feel the love.

Today is the official anniversary of my bloggy love child and also my 287th post.  Not that there is anything significant about the number 287…just that it falls on the one year anniversary of my blog.  But, 287!  WooHoo!

Yes, I have been spewing motherly knowledge, woes, and wisdom on the world for exactly one year.  I have become addicted to the world of blogging and have connected with some wonderfully weird readers over the year, many of whom didn’t get so scared that they ran away forever.  Yea, them!
This blog actually started out as A Jane of all Trades but quickly morphed into MamaNeena: The Adventures and Misadventures of Uber-mom!  Since we’re all now such close friends and you’ve witnessed my stories of crayons, dogs, poop, and lack of bladder control, I feel I can share the story of where my fancy blog name came from.  My name is actually Christina.  Several years back my friend’s daughter could not pronounce my name and just branded me ‘Neena.’  It was cute and all, but it wasn’t until my oldest daughter was 9 months old and one day shouted ‘MamaNeena!’  It stuck and I have been MamaNeena ever since.  Sometimes I’m just ‘Neena’ and sometimes I’m lucky enough to be ‘Auntie Neena.’  So, there ya have it.
I hope you weren’t expecting some big, fancy story of hope, love, and friendship.  Nope.  It’s all about the mispronunciation, baby.
Anyway, I have written about many different things over the past year, but what seems to be the most ‘popular’ is a short, silly post I did about Hoops and Yoyo.  Remember?  I don’t really remember either, but according to my blog statistics ‘hoops and yoyo’ or some inclusion of those words is what brings more readers to my blog than anything else.  Seriously!?
Yep.  Seriously!
People have arrived at my blog by some combination of those keywords.  I did get one visitor by the key worlds ‘dig is crap talk.’  But I don’t think they were looking for me.  So, in honor of my blog anniversary and the weird little post that brought the most folks around to visit, I’m having a giveaway.  Yes, my friends.  I’m going to share the love and insanity with one lucky reader.
Leave me a comment today and you’ll be entered to win a wonder array of Hoops and Yoyo stuff.  You’ll be thrilled and quickly on your way to ‘crazy’ thanks to the cornucopia of Hoops and Yoyo paraphernalia I’ll be sending you. (oh, the Hallmark store made a small fortune off me, I’m telling you!)  Maybe I should try to stop the insanity that is Hoops and Yoyo.  But, no!  I’ve got to pass it on because if I’m going down I’m taking someone with me!
I’ll pick a winner tomorrow.  So, leave me a comment and show me the love.  I’d hate to end up crying in my closet of an office on my anniversary because nobody would take the time to leave a teeny, tiny comment.  Feeling guilty?  Well, leave a comment and you’ll feel better.
Happy Blogging!!
