These are a few of my favorite things…

  • That fresh, perfectly brewed cup of coffee first thing in the morning
  • A really great book that has me so engrossed that I don’t worry about the ‘to do list’…at least for a little while
  • When one or both of my babies hugs or kisses me for no reason whatsoever!
  • A night of take-out and great TV
  • Watching my babies experience something new and exciting
  • Running errands and the radio plays nothing but great songs
  • Watching my babies sleep…they are such angels!
  • Curling up in a nice warm bed with my hubby and laughing about the day right before we go to sleep
  • Cooking for my family (with my family)

Nesting

I told my husband that it was time…for the pregnancy nesting. He quietly agreed and offered any help necessary. I immediately took him up on his offer of help due to the fact that I am on restricted activity. I handed him a two page list of the tasks I would like to accomplish this Sunday. It was broken down by room, consisted of columns, included places to check off and highlight completed tasks, and listed all supplies needed for the different tasks.
I think he ran away..

What is a ‘Jane’ of all trades?

I have recently come to realize that the multitude of roles I fill everyday could quite possibly make me qualified for almost any job. Maybe that is what I already do…any and every job.

I am…
Mother
Wife
Daughter
Writer
Chef
Housekeeper/Maid
Multi-tasker
Nurse
Teacher
Tutor
Plumber
Electrician
Beautician
Chauffeur
Volunteer
Landscaper
Laundry-genius
Vet
Locator of everything my family lost
Decorator
Mrs. Fix-it
Painter
Disciplinarian
Planner/Scheduler
Social Coordinator
Cheerleeder – my family’s biggest fan!
Individual – believe it or not, there is still a ‘Me’ somewhere in there!

It’s not always easy and my roles are ever-changing. But this is a life I chose…eyes open and my head on straight! It can be overwhelming, crazy, and sometimes just awful. I wouldn’t, however, trade my life for anyone elses.
